SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION This and other objects, which appear from the following description, are achieved by means of a display device and a motor vehicle of the kind initially indicated and further having the features set forth in the characterizing part of appended independent claims 1 and 9. Preferred embodiments of the display device are defined in appended dependent claims 2-8. According to the invention, the object is achieved with a display device for displaying at least one parameter of information concerning the operation of the vehicle, comprising means for controlling a rotational movement of at least one marker, the rotational movement corresponding to values of said at least one parameter, further comprising at least one light guide along which values of said at least one parameter are intended to be illustrated in the form of illuminated portions of said light guide, at least one marker being arranged to shield light in said light guide to provide clear, space-saving and cost-effective display of such information in said illuminated portions. This enables high-resolution, high-resolution can be achieved by the rotational movement by means of, for example, a stepper motor, whereby light guides can be arranged space-saving, for example in connection with an existing meter on the dashboard of the vehicle. According to an embodiment of the display device, the light guide is arranged in an arcuate configuration. In this way, rotational movement of the marker can be easily transmitted to light guides for producing an illuminated portion in light guides. According to an embodiment of the display device, said marker comprises a divider slidably arranged in said light guide. This enables effective shielding of light to provide an illuminated portion in light guides, where said shielding can consist of substantially total blocking of light. Alternatively, said shielding of light allows a certain overflow of light so as to have a less sharp transition from illuminated to unlit portion of light guide. According to an embodiment of the display device, said means for controlling rotational movement comprise an electric motor. This enables high-resolution display of information through illuminated portions in a light guide. According to an embodiment of the display device, said electric motor consists of a stepper motor with at least one shaft. This enables high-resolution display of information through an illuminated section in light guides. Furthermore, conventional technology is used to control a marker in the form of hands in meters for further presentation of information by illuminating a portion in light guides. Enables the use of an existing stepper motor for effecting the presentation of information by illuminating portions of a light guide by means of a marker connected to a stepper motor. According to an embodiment of the display device, said marker comprises a marker portion connected to said means. Hereby rotational movement of the cursor is effected by connecting the cursor portion to said means for controlling the rotational movement. According to an embodiment of the display device, values relating to at least two parameters are intended to be illustrated along light guides, one marker per illuminated portion being present. This makes it possible to display information by illuminating a portion of the light guide and other information by illuminating the portion of the light guide, which enables clear and space-saving display of various information. This can be achieved with one and the same light guide or with, for example, one light guide per illuminated portion. According to an embodiment of the display device, a marker constitutes a pointer arranged to display parameter values along a scale. In this way, in the same display device, both conventional display by marker in the form of hands visible on the display surface of display elements of the display device and display by illuminating a portion of light guides can preferably be arranged in an arcuate arrangement around the display element.
